Come on, I know you feel the slow change in the air. The breezes seem a little warmer, the sun seems to be getting hotter, and the last signs of spring are slowly disappearing. Yup, summer is definitely making its move, and that means one thing: summer smoothies!

Okay, okay, okay. For most people, summer means going to the beach and getting their tan on. But for me, I’m immediately drawn back to summers on our front porch, just watching the world go by, summer smoothies in hand. Pure bliss.

Sadly, there’s also a number of people who just abhor the heat that summer brings. Luckily for them, I have the perfect solution: summer smoothies!

These smoothies will not only help you feel refreshed and cool as you bask underneath the sun. I guarantee that they taste great and will have plenty of other benefits for your body too! So without further ado, here are a few of my favorite summer smoothies that I hope you will enjoy as well.

Summer Smoothies to Enjoy

Take note that all these recipes are super easy to make and don’t need that much time and effort. And take note, every single one of these summer smoothies is chock-full of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals! So whip out that blender and have a go at these summer smoothies.

Paleo Peach Coconut Smoothie

This smoothie is dairy-free, but still has plenty of nutrients to offer. The coconut milk has monounsaturated fats, which is perfect for heart health. The peaches also provide iron, zinc, folate, and copper.

Ingredients:

1 cup coconut milk, chilled

2 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 cup ice cubes

lemon zest to taste

Procedure:

First off, add the coconut milk, ice cubes, and peaches to a blender. Puree until slightly smooth. Add desired lemon zest. Lastly, continue blending until fully mixed.

Summer Berry Delight

To me, nothing says summer like blueberries and strawberries. These and other types of berries are labeled as summer fruits. They are nature’s most natural sweet treats. Just pop some in your mouth and get ready to literally taste summer. And what cooler way to do it than by using them in a smoothie?

Ingredients:

1 banana

1 cup frozen strawberries

a cup of frozen blueberries

1 cup frozen cherries

½ cup fresh orange juice

¾ cup vanilla yogurt

½ teaspoon honey

ice cubes

Procedure:

First, place the banana, strawberries, blueberries, and cherries into a high-speed blender. Blend on low speed until fruits are roughly chopped. Then add in the orange juice, yogurt, and some honey, depending on how sweet you like it. Blend again. Finally, put in the ice for your desired consistency.

Orange Juice Smoothie

A lot of people think that summer days are best paired with citrus drinks. And here’s one that’s cool enough for the beachside or poolside. And bonus: this refreshing summer treat is loaded with vitamin C.

Ingredients:

4 Valencia oranges, squeezed

1 small ripe banana

½ cup frozen pineapple chunks

⅓ cup frozen peaches, sliced

ice cubes

Procedure:

Blend all ingredients together except the ice. Add the ice gradually, until smooth and creamy.

Blueberry Mint Green Smoothie

You have to admit, there’s nothing like mint to give you a fresh kick. Also, this perfect summer drink has coconut water for added hydration, blueberries with free radical–fighting antioxidants, and folate from the kale leaves.

Ingredients:

2 cups frozen blueberries

1 kiwi

2 cups frozen spinach leaves

3-4 large mint leaves

1 cup coconut water

ice cubes

Procedure:

Put in the blueberries, kiwi, and coconut water first. Puree until slightly smooth. Next, add in the spinach leaves and the mint leaves. Continue blending until very smooth. Add in the ice for last until proper thickness is achieved.

Watermelon Frosty

Now here’s another fruit that’s absolutely perfect for the summer. One bite of a fresh and juicy watermelon instantly gives you a refreshing feeling. We all know how watermelon is made up of mostly water, so it’s the go-to fruit for those who are feeling extra thirsty. On top of that, watermelon is loaded with fiber, potassium, and lycopene.

Ingredients:

2½ cups frozen watermelon, cubed

½ cup coconut water

1-2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 large lemon or 2 limes, squeezed

1 banana, chopped

Ingredients:

5 whole lychees

1 cup frozen peaches

1 large frozen banana

1⅔ cups guava kombucha

2 tablespoons lychee juice

½ lemon, squeezed

ice cubes

Procedure:

First, add the lychees, peaches, and banana into the blender. Blend. Next, put in the guava kombucha, lychee juice, and lemon juice. Continue blending until slightly smooth. Finally, add in the ice cubes for desired consistency.

Tropical Twist

This is one of the summer smoothies that’ll surely keep you asking for more. It’s a natural thirst quencher due to the component of sweet coconut water. It’s a great source of electrolytes, which makes sure your body is properly hydrated. This drink also supplies a fair amount of manganese for bone health.

Ingredients:

¾ cup carrots, grated

1 cup pineapple chunks

2 tablespoons unsweetened dried coconut flakes

½ cup coconut water, chilled

2 teaspoons agave nectar

2 teaspoons white chia seeds

ice cubes

Procedure:

Blend the carrots, pineapple chunks, and grated coconut together until slightly smooth. Next, put in the coconut water, agave nectar, and chia seeds. Continue blending until properly mixed. Finally, add in the ice cubes one by one, until desired consistency is reached.

Peanut Lovers’ Green Smoothie

Seriously, who doesn’t love peanut butter? And if you’re one of those people who hate the taste of vegetables, then this is one of the summer smoothies perfect for you. It hides the taste of spinach so well. This drink also has healthy fats and is a sweet and refreshing treat perfect for those muggy summer afternoons.

Ingredients:

1 medium ripe banana, sliced

1 tablespoon organic peanut butter

2 tablespoons salted peanuts

1 cup almond milk

1 handful spinach

ice cubes

Add the banana, peanut butter, and almond milk in a blender and mix. Next, put in the peanuts, and continue mixing until the nuts are completely ground. Add in the spinach last and resume blending. Ingredients:

½ medium raw beets, cubed

½ cup cottage cheese

1 handful raw beet greens

¼ medium avocado

½ medium banana, frozen

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tablespoon cacao powder

1 tablespoon maple syrup

½ teaspoon cinnamon

ice cubes

Procedure:

First, combine all the ingredients (except the ice cubes) in a high-speed blender. Mix for about 30 seconds, or until everything is completely smooth. Gradually add in the ice cubes for desired consistency. Serve and enjoy.

1 cup kale, chopped

1 rib celery, chopped
