Garcinia Cambogia – Where to Buy Pills, Reviews, Side Effects

Months of research, and feedback we get from thousands of customers who have purchased Garcinia Cambodia from this website, and our physical store
( in Las Vegas, have convinced us that
Garcinia Cambodia DOES WORK for MOST people.

You can click on any of the questions below, or, scroll down the page. We hope this helps to educate and steer people away from some of the Free Trial Scams and other crooks out there pushing crappy products.

thumbs upGarcinia is recognized as GRAS by the FDA, meaning it:
“has been adequately shown to be safe under the conditions of its intended use” . There have been several studies to test the effectiveness of Garcinia Cambogia. In these controlled quantities there were no side effects. According to studies (1) :

At least 15 clinical studies involving approximately 900 patients document very mild adverse reactions. Most adverse reactions included headache, dizziness, dry mouth, and GI complaints such as nausea and diarrhea.

Another research article (2) looked at all published research and in particular focused on side effects and found garcinia to be free from any major side effects when taken at moderate dosages (up to 2800 mgs per day)

To date, there is no case study or report showing the direct adverse effect of HCA. The structure, mechanism of action, long history of the use of Garcinia/HCA and comprehensive scientific evidence had shown “no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL)” at levels up to 2800 mg/day, suggesting its safety for use.

Another study (3) looked into the effects of very high dosages in animals – in humans, the equivalent of 233 times the recommended daily dosage. The results:

Toxicology studies resulted in no toxicity or deaths in animals at dosages of HCA 5,000 mg/kg, equivalent to or 233 times the maximum dosage for humans

Conclusion: Little to no side effects at normal dosages. Extreme dosages may cause discomfort but are non-toxic

Beware of “PHANTOM” Brands – Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
You can find dozens of brands that just popped up out of nowhere, threw a brand new label on a bottle, and sell it on Amazon and other such places. here_today_gone_tomorrow

Any brand that just popped up yesterday and may be gone tomorrow doesn’t bother making a quality product – they are only looking for a quick buck and not making long term customers happy. You never know how safe or effective such fly-by-night products will be.

Amazon can be a good place to buy, but….
Only if you know it is a good brand name. Amazon does a great job of making sure you get the product you order, but not so much at weeding out crappy products.

Unfortunately, you can’t rely on the reviews on Amazon right now, since there are many companies selling fake reviews that Amazon is suing to try and stop.

Beware of “Free Trials”

We talk more about Free Trials here – they trick you into a ridiculously expensive mostly subscription that you don’t know until you see the charges on your act.

Don’t just buy the cheapest bottle you can find.

Research a brand if you are unsure of it. Many do not have a website, or even exist outside of Amazon – they just made up a brand name to use on Amazon for selling the cheapest product they can find.

39This is the brand we recommend. You can read more about it here, and also on purchase it on Amazon.

You should also check out some of the products that combine Garcinia Cambogia with other natural weight loss product like Green Coffee Bean extract.

Dr. Oz the following criteria for Garcinia which this brand meets, along with being a well established pioneer in natural weight loss products.

  • Should contain 60% HCA
  • Gives you at least 600mg per capsule
  • Has been PROVEN to work
  • It has ZERO fillers, additives and usesless ingredients
  • Industry-leading, no-hassle money-back guarantee

Conclusion: Low prices can be great, but only if it is a brand you can trust

We have not reviewed any of the Phantom brands found on Amazon as they come and go so much, and often change their products.

We have reviewed some brands used in Free Trials here. In nearly all cases, it is obvious they use the absolute cheapest ingredients.

You can read the reviews and compare brands here.

garcinia warning

It  IS safe for most people. But there are a few cases where you wouldn’t want to take it:

  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Alzheimers or dementia

Garcinia Cambogia boosts serotonin levels in the brain (which triggers the satisfied, full feeling that helps suppress appetite). For this reason, it is not advised for patients with neurological disorders such as Alzheimers, Parkinsons, or other forms of dementia.

what is garcinia question mark

Studies show the HCA helps weight loss
by suppressing appetite AND increased fat burning. You can take just one capsule an hour before you eat your food with a glass of water. Most people experience a significant reduction in your intensity of hunger, with no side effects

Several research studies on Garcinia Cambogia, in both animals and humans.

In a major study Garcinia Cambogia resulted in weight loss of 2.8 pounds compared to those who did not receive Garcinia.

2 other studies that showed significant weight loss were (here and here)

A review in the Journal of Obesity examined 12 separate studies found that Garcinia lead to weight loss of 2 pounds over 2 weeks .

Conclusion: Studies show Garcinia does aid in weight loss, although there is variation in how much – possibly because dosage and other parameters varied from study to study.

Dr. Oz says Cambogia is:

  • “The newest, fastest, fat buster – Blocks fat and hunger”
  • the Holy Grail of Weight Loss

He went on to say, “Anytime I see a scientist get this excited about something like Garcinia Cambogia Extract and when I looked through some of this research and called these scientists myself, I get excited. That’s why Garcinia Cambogia Extract makes sense to me and fascinates me.”

There are many benefits with Garcinia Cambogia, but we don’t believe it is a stronger fat burner than Green Coffee, or, is more effective at blocking hunger than  5htp. But what really draws so much interest and got Dr Oz so excited about it? It is the only one that:

Blocks Fat AND Stops Hunger

Many weight loss product help with one or the other, but the HCA in “Gambooge” is effective at both. That is why it is such a powerful weight loss aid.

Used in advanced weight loss formulas for many years
garcinia cambogia superfruit dietGarcinia Cambogia is a safe and healthy weight loss aid all by itself. But where it really excels is in combination with other products. Because it is more mild than some other diet aids with no caffeine or other stimulant properties, it has been used for many years to enhance the effectiveness of other products without making users nauseous, nervous, or edgy.

It isn’t really “new” to the weight loss industry, but is just recently made popular by Dr Oz, who just got in trouble with the  Senate Committee on Commerce for being a little too exuberant.

Garcinia Cambogia is a 2 pronged attack. It:

  • Blocks the enzyme citrate lyase, which turns sugars and starches into fat.
  • Increases serotonin in the brain, to increase “satiety” – making you feel full sooner

Fat blocking different than fat burning
The “fat blocking” properties are different than fat burning like Green Coffee, so it is complementary to those products. They work better together.

Not a stimulant
Contrary to some claims, Garcinia does not raise metabolism levels, increase energy, or make you more “alert”. But in some ways, that is really a good thing.

  • You can take higher dosages without the side effects you might get from stimulants
  • It works well in combination with other diet products that DO contain stimulants

Hunger suppressants not all the same
Even the hunger suppressant is a bit different. It raises serotonin levels in the brain, whereas 5HTP makes the serotonin more readily accessible. So both have similar effects, but may work differently for different people. And they also can work better together.

SuperFruit Diet Formulas
NewLifeBotanicals includes Cambogia in 3 of their popular Superfruit Diet Formulas. Our customers have been reporting more positive results with these products than any other we offer – in particular the SDF-1 and SDF-2.

Beware the Scams
With any popular diet product, there are lots of scams that sell crappy product at ridiculous prices, and some that dissappear with your money. You might want to review some guidelines by the FTC in spotting the crooks. It is becoming more common now with Garcinia, so beware, and read some of our reviews of brands like Miracle, Whole Body, Natural, and Pure Garcinia Cambogia.

30 minutes to an hour BEFORE a meal is best. It is more effective at blocking the enzyme citrate lyase from turning sugars and starches into fat when taken on an empty stomach.

It also prevents overeating by increasing satiety – so is more effective if taken close to mealtimes.

We recommend taking twice a day, 1 hour before breakfast and dinner, or, before lunch and dinner.

Always take with a full glass of water, and on an empty stomach whenever possible.

We are big fans of the Paleo diet. You can read an article here about how Garcinia Cambodia and the Paleo diet work well together.

One 600mg capsule, 2-3 times a day is the recommended dosage to start.

Then, if desired you can increase to 2 capsules 2-3 times per day.

A 600mg capsule with 90 capsules per bottle is the most common size.

For a quality product from a brand you can trust, this size bottle varies between $17-$25.

When comparing prices, you must read carefully. Many shady sellers list something like this prominently on the front of their bottle:

“1200mg per serving”

You think this means the capsules are 1200 mg each. Wrong!

In very small print on the the back label it says “2 capsules per serving”

We don’t understand why so many people ask this. You should be able to find Garcinia in just about any Health Food or Vitamin store, as well as Costco, Walmart, Wholefoods, etc.

We don’t really recommend buying from Supermarkets though, as they tend to carry brands that cater to the lowest price mentality, regardless of quality.
