“has been adequately shown to be safe under the conditions of its intended use” . There have been several studies to test the effectiveness of Garcinia Cambogia. In these controlled quantities there were no side effects. According to studies (1) :

At least 15 clinical studies involving approximately 900 patients document very mild adverse reactions. Most adverse reactions included headache, dizziness, dry mouth, and GI complaints such as nausea and diarrhea.

Another research article (2) looked at all published research and in particular focused on side effects and found garcinia to be free from any major side effects when taken at moderate dosages (up to 2800 mgs per day)

To date, there is no case study or report showing the direct adverse effect of HCA. The structure, mechanism of action, long history of the use of Garcinia/HCA and comprehensive scientific evidence had shown “no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL)” at levels up to 2800 mg/day, suggesting its safety for use.

Another study (3) looked into the effects of very high dosages in animals – in humans, the equivalent of 233 times the recommended daily dosage. The results:

Toxicology studies resulted in no toxicity or deaths in animals at dosages of HCA 5,000 mg/kg, equivalent to or 233 times the maximum dosage for humans

Conclusion: Little to no side effects at normal dosages. Extreme dosages may cause discomfort but are non-toxic

WHEN TO TAKE?

30 minutes to an hour BEFORE a meal is best. It is more effective at blocking the enzyme citrate lyase from turning sugars and starches into fat when taken on an empty stomach.

It also prevents overeating by increasing satiety – so is more effective if taken close to mealtimes.

We recommend taking twice a day, 1 hour before breakfast and dinner, or, before lunch and dinner.

Always take with a full glass of water, and on an empty stomach whenever possible.
