A few questions on NMN and Resveratrol

Post by pciancarelli » Thu Apr 23, 2020 12:44 am

Hey everyone, just a couple questions..

1. Does anyone know what Resveratrol supplement David Sinclair takes?

2. Do you have to take NMN with resveratrol in order for it to be effective? David has said resveratrol is the fuel and NMN is the accelerator pedal (or vice versa?)

Sinclair has a huge private stock of resveratrol. He was famous for his work on resveratrol long before NMN, so he had access to all he wanted. I believe he advocates trans-resveratrol.

Yes NMN and resveratrol do work better together - resveratrol is the gas pedal and NMN the fuel. In Sinclair's famous mouse studies, NAC increased the effectiveness of NMN by about 40 percent. This is cheap and available on Amazon.

I know that Biotivia´s TRANSMAX capsules and megaresveratrol.net are two manufacturers that researchers have used in several human clinical trials.

I take the megaresveratrol powder.

So the megaresveratrol is legit? I just worry about all the knock off products out there. But this one looks like it's authentic and if you say it's worth it, then I will buy it

I agree with Fred those two have been used in studies.

One thing to consider when buying Resveratrol is that the powder must be a off-white color and NOT a dark brown color. I in the past have bought Resveratrol and it was a brown color. Also look at the label and make sure it says 99% Transveratrol.

I agree about taking it, this is the first i heard of there being an issue with color.

So if i may, what is the main difference between resveratrol and transresveratrol?
Taking:

The main difference between resveratrol and trans resveratrol is that the resveratrol is the general product name of a dietary supplement containing polyphenols, which act as antioxidants, whereas trans-resveratrol is the active ingredient found in the resveratrol supplement. So make sure that the product contains 99% trans resveratrol. Usually the darker the color of the powder the less of the active ingredient.

Thanks for the info, drkris69, very useful! I didn't realize there was a difference between the two, will keep an eye out for this subtle yet significant difference.
