Evening dose of NMN and sleep

Post by Fred » Wed Oct 09, 2019 8:25 am

I searched the forum for "evening dose" and found nothing so I´ll make a new post.

  • Have you tried a second (or only) dose of NMN in the evening? Meaning between 17 (5 PM) and bedtime.
  • What time and what dose? With food or without?
  • Did the evening dose affect your sleep for better or worse or neutral?

Thank you!

I have very vivid and intense dreams if I take it at night and usually end up waking up many times because of them.

Interesting. Thank you. I´ve gotten very vivid dreams from only two supplements, the botanical Rhodiola Rosea and 5-htp. Both have indirect and direct serotonergic effects. I don´t think we know how NMN affects the neurotransmitters (if it does at all).

Anyone else experienced vivid dreams or frequent wake-ups when taking NMN in the evening/late at night?

I'm do 250mg (2 sublingual tabs) and I take both in the morning with breakfast (+ 100mg pterosilibene) in the morning.

I've taken it mid afternoon a few times and it didn't seem to be an issue, really just the times I took it shortly before bed (an hour or so) that caused the wacky dreams.

Although I cannot recall my dreams being vivid, I definitely woke up several times throughout the night while taking a late dose of NMN. I no longer do this and take my last dose of 125mg no later that 5PM.

Thank you for reporting back Vandevalk1.

I´m reading two papers on SIRT1 and NADs influence on circadian rhythm. I´ll link them below if someone is interested:

I take all my NMN and morning and noon... (since i am near my sweet spot where i am beginning to notice its effects) i would rather take it while i can observe the benefits.

Although the main reason i am taking NMN is related to longevity and aged health as opposed to daily experience.
Taking:
Resveratrol 400mg since June 2019
NMN Sublingual 250mg since june 2019 500mg since September 2019
NAD+ Nasal, appx 100mg per day since September 2019

It would seem most anecdotal references claim it has an effect on sleep patterns when taken in the evening. A similar effect to any stimulant...

It is interesting that we are hearing about vivid dreams and NMN. I had asked earlier about NAD and vivid dreams and nobody had experienced any. With NAD IV we hear people talk a lot about vivid dreams.

Thanks Fred for the research very interesting papers.
