I take 6mg ( 1 capsule ) daily.
May increase to 12 mg in a month or so but will decide if that happens by way of feedback..

Ebay or Amazon. I have a friend with rheumatoid arthritis that has had absolutely amazing results with astaxanthin. Almost zero knee pain for myself after starting dosing.

As with any wellness regimen it is always important to remember your personalized goals and health status. Although there are thousands of products out there with significant health benefits it is not feasible to take all of them. Personalized medicine is about designing a program for you and your health and wellness goals. Additionally, cost is always an issue. My advice is to get the biggest bang for your buck on every supplement that you add to your regimen. This means that you should be getting outstanding results that move you toward your goals and at a reasonable and acceptable cost. I believe that Astaxanthin is a great product and it does deliver results but not everyone needs to be taking it.
I hope this helps and as always questions are always welcome.

Does anyone believe that taking 16mg of astaxanthin is excessive? Can the body even absorb this amount or are you just producing expensive pee?

A few things I have read and watched say this is too much.

Your thoughts?

With anything that we take there is a wash out amount. I dont see any published research that states what the physiological utilization of a particular dosage is plus you have other metabolic processes that may pull more out of the system. Many times what people try to do is take a large dose in order to get the maximum physiologic dose. Personally, I think taking the smallest amounts possible is a better approach. Each person is an individual and has individualized goals and genetics. Personalized plans are very important as you begin to build out your regimen. One dosage doesnt fit all.

I have no problem with redness of the skin and I believe under 20 MG a day is kind of standard with astaxanthin. My work is physically taxing and I exercise hard every other day. I do take weekends off of all supplements though. I also vary my dose slightly depending on my daily work load using 4 MG gel caps. This seems to work well for my shot out knee. Hope this helps.
