Article (about new book): "The Surprising Secret to Longevity"

Post by OzSport » Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:16 am

Check out this interview with the author of a new book called "Growing Young: How Friendship, Optimism, and Kindness Can Help You Live to 100"

https://www.psychologytoday.com/au/blog ... -longevity

The author talks about the importance of not just healthy eating and exercise, but also of kindness and friendship as well as volunteering.

(On a side note, the concept of being healthy well into old age is catching on as the author notes at the end: "People assume if they live to 100 it means they’ll be sick for 20 years. This is not how it happens. The longer you stay healthy, the longer you live. Investing in your longevity also means investing in your health."). :)

You are correct. Being active and involved is so important to the aging process. If you look at the "Blue Zones" of the world you will see that those that live the longest work hard, socialize often and strive to eat a balanced clean diet.
